Nestled in the California foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains is where you can find the Renwood Winery. Renwood’s focus is on producing high quality Zinfandel from vineyards located in Amador County, the Sierra Foothills and the Shenandoah Valley. Renwood Vineyards was founded in 1993 in the Shenandoah Valley by Boston native Robert Smerling. At that time their total wine production was only about 2,500 cases. Today Renwood produces over 100,000 cases annually according to our Renwood reviews. While the bulk of Renwood wines are still Zinfandel, they also produce Barbera, Syrah, Semillon, Pinot Grigio and Viognier as well as dessert and port wines. Moreover, Renwood's Grandpère Zinfandel, which comes from their Grandpère Vineyards, is the oldest known clone of Zinfandel in America according to our Renwood ratings. In an effort to remain environmentally-friendly, Renwood utilizes sustainable farming and production techniques in all of their vineyards and winemaking practices.
