This is a balanced, classy effort, well ripened but not at all raisiny or overextracted. Classic Pinot flavors of sassafras and cherry, with some licorice coming through in the finish. Not a big wine, it nonetheless shows supple texture and enough depth to warrant the single- vineyard bottling. —P.G.

Supple, light, cherry-scented with some typical tomato leaf notes. The rough tannins are beginning to smooth out as the wine turns the corner from raw youth. Pleasant hints of mushroom in the finish.
