Rheingraf 2010 Alte Reben Trocken Riesling (Rheinhessen)
Price
$55
Rheingraf’s 2010s look to be terrific, and this bottling, from old vines, starts fast. Mouthwatering notes of honey, truffle and petrichor emerge, followed by a wine that’s plush and mouthfilling yet structured; ripe yet crisp. Drink now–2020.

Rheingraf 2010 Trocken Riesling (Rheinhessen)
Editors' Choice
Price
$23
Just a shade less potent than Rheingraf’s Alte Reben bottling, this is nevertheless excellent, and a great value. Hints of honey, truffle and wet stones combine easily into a harmonious wine that finishes with great energy and length.

Rheingraf 2009 Scharlachberg Bingen Trocken GG Riesling (Rheinhessen)
Price
$64
Unlike the almost crystalline 2010s from Rheingraf, this seems almost too easy. It boasts aromas of crushed stone and orange blossom, flavors of honey and peach and a lush, softly rounded texture. A GG wine that’s already harmonious and ready to drink.

Rheingraf 2009 Bingen Trocken Riesling (Rheinhessen)

Price
$21
This wine starts off a bit funky and earthy on the nose, but opens up to reveal more floral and lime-like scents. At 13% alcohol, it’s medium bodied and impressively dry tasting, with lime blossom and pineapple fruit balanced by crisp acids. Drink now.

Rheingraf 2008 Spätlese Riesling (Rheinhessen)
Online Exclusive
Price
$32
Subtle for the type, with delicate quince, apricot and moss notes that lead to a lemony palate. Piquant acidity binds it all together in a taut frame. Off-dry. Drink now.

Rheingraf 2008 Scharlenberg Bingen Trocken Riesling (Rheinhessen)
Online Exclusive
An austere, spicy wine and a successful effort in the trocken category, with Christmas spices and orange peel scents and a light but balanced palate. The clove-inflected finish is just this side of medium. Drink now to 2013.
