RN Estate 2006 Cuvée des Trois Cepages Red (Paso Robles)

  1. $45
Exceptionally appealing. Feels smooth, dry and polished, with supple flavors of blackberries, black currants, violets, herbs and smoky cedar. Really elegant and classy, and improves in the glass. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot.  — S.H.  (10/1/2009)

RN Estate 2004 Cuvee de Trois Cepages Red (Paso Robles)

  1. $35
A Bordeaux blend, this wine shows the softness and ripeness that Paso succeeds at so well with Cabernet and Merlot. It’s classic eastside, and in this warm vintage the flavors run toward blackberry marmalade, red cherry jam, milk chocolate, gingerbread and spiced rum. Just delicious.  — S.H.  (6/1/2007)

RN Estate 2005 Cuvee des Artistes Red (Paso Robles)

  1. $38
An offbeat blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel. Drinks dense and full-bodied, with a gamy, leathery edge to the blackberries, mocha and cedar. Flamboyant now, and could develop bottle complexity in a few years.  — S.H.  (10/1/2009)

  1. $35
A Syrah-based blend of the two Cabs with Zinfandel, this is a fairly rough-edged, very ripe wine. It’s upfront in cherry-berry, cola, leather, chocolate and spice flavors, and finishes dry and tannic.  — S.H.  (6/1/2007)

RN Estate 2003 Syrah Mourvedre Red (Paso Robles)

  1. $35
No fancy name for this two-grape blend, and it’s not a fancy wine, either. Direct in berry, earthy coffee, dark bitter chocolate and peppery spice flavors, it’s bone dry and tannic. The alcohol is kind of high, and makes for a hot finish, but a good steak will help.  — S.H.  (6/1/2007)

RN Estate 2008 Symphonie de Cepages Red (Paso Robles)

  1. $48
Hot and jammy, this wine is forward in rapsberries, cherries and milk chocolate. It’s delicious in an upfront way, but a little too sweet and soft.  — S.H.  (10/1/2011)

RN Estate 2004 Westside Cuvee Red (Paso Robles)

  1. $35
A blend of all five Bordeaux varieties, this is an enormously ripe wine, bursting with plum, coffee and cherry-berry flavors that taste well-oaked. It has a rough, sandpapery feeling in the mouth, with a dry, peppery finish.  — S.H.  (6/1/2007)
