Robert Weil 2009 Kiedrich Gräfenberg Trockenbeerenauslese Riesling (Rheingau)

  • Cellar Selection
  • Online Exclusive
  1. $612
Hugely sweet yet reasonably balanced given its enormous concentration, this is a tremendous example of the quality heights sweet Riesling can achieve. Golden raisin, dried apricots and candied pineapple all swirl together in a delicious haze of sugar-coma-inducing syrup that nevertheless goes down easily. Will age easily for decades.  — J.C.  (3/1/2012)

Robert Weil 2009 Kiedrich Turmberg Auslese Riesling (Rheingau)

  • Cellar Selection
  • Online Exclusive
  1. $142
Terrific, from its nearly indefinable aromas akin to Cloud Ear fungus to its intensely sweet yet racy palate. Dried apricot, peach and pineapple flavors give it substance without excessive weight, finishing long and intense. Drink now–2030.  — J.C.  (3/1/2012)

Robert Weil 2009 Kiedrich Gräfenberg Beerenauslese Riesling (Rheingau)

  • Cellar Selection
  • Online Exclusive
  1. $292
Sweet and viscous, this ratchets up the level of sugar and concentration beyond that of Weil’s 2009 auslesen. Dried apricots rule, but nuances of musky spice and candied pineapple play supporting roles. Unctuous enough to pair with dessert if need be, but better on its own, or perhaps with aged hard cheeses.  — J.C.  (3/1/2012)

Robert Weil 2009 Kiedrich Gräfenberg Eiswein Riesling (Rheingau)

  • Cellar Selection
  • Online Exclusive
  1. $376
Perhaps a step behind Weil’s other supersweet 2009s, this eiswein remains a prodigious effort. The candied pineapple and golden raisin notes are so intense, so concentrated that they’re almost painful to taste, lingering virtually forever on the finish.  — J.C.  (3/1/2012)

Robert Weil 2009 Kiedrich Gräfenberg Erstes Gewächs Trocken Riesling (Rheingau)

  1. $76
Rich, oily and just slightly sweet, this is a broad-shouldered Riesling, redolent of honey, heating oil and wet rocks. It’s powerful and concentrated without being fruity, delivering instead a mouthful of stones and spice and ending with a peppery bite.  — J.C.  (12/1/2011)

Robert Weil 2006 Estate Dry Riesling (Rheingau)

  1. $24
Like all of the Weil wines, even this entry-level effort places an emphasis on ripeness. Hints of smoke and diesel add complexity to the nose, while on the palate it’s broad and slightly off-dry, with sun-drenched flavors of nectarine and melon that coat the mouth on the finish.  — J.C.  (9/1/2007)

Robert Weil 2004 Estate Dry QbA Riesling (Rheingau)

  1. $25
This is a big, mouthfilling, dry Riesling, a bit austere on the nose, but ample in the mouth, where crunchy rocks dominate. Hints of underripe peach and crisp apple peek through, but this wine is all about the minerals and stony dryness. Imported by Cellars International, Inc.  — J.C.  (10/1/2005)

Robert Weil 2009 Tradition Riesling (Rheingau)

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $28
This is a traditional fruity Riesling, medium bodied, with flinty aromas and hints of apples and cream. It’s soft and off dry in style, with some mineral character.  — J.C.  (12/31/2011)
