Saracina 2007 Petite Sirah (Mendocino County)

  1. $38
Big and chewy and inky black, this clearly well-crafted Petite Sirah is full of black fruit—mostly blackberry—and peppery tones. The tannins stand out and yet mellow as the wine opens. A few more years in bottle should get them to the appropriate place. Enjoy this wine with a pepper steak or ravioli.  — V.B.  (10/1/2011)

Saracina 2011 Unoaked Chardonnay (Mendocino County)

  1. $18
With a very pretty nose of perfumed pear, green apple and lime, this unoaked Chardonnay is nicely soft and easy to drink. Made from organic Chardonnay and a touch of Viognier, this smells and tastes of summer. Even without a hint of oak this retains plenty of richness and a fresh vibrancy on the finish.  — V.B.  (10/1/2012)

Winemaking team Alex MacGregor and David Ramey have produced a beautiful Sauvignon Blanc here, from organically farmed grapes grown in several vineyards throughout Mendocino County, including owner John Fetzer’s Kathleen’s Vineyard, named for his mom. Saracina 2010 Klindt Vineyard Pinot Noir (Anderson Valley)

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $38
Right out of the bottle, this bone-dry Pinot is brittle and mute, so give it a good long decant to let the air mellow it. Eventually, it releases plenty of sour-raspberry-candy, mushroom and plum-sauce flavors that finish rich and spicy.  — S.H.  (12/1/2012)

Saracina 2009 Pick and Shovel Zinfandel (Mendocino County)

  1. $28
Plenty of dark plum and blackberry going on here, from a Zin sourced from two organically farmed vineyards. Low berry weights from the dry vintage have contributed to a concentrated wine here, with soft tannins and some spiciness, an overall balanced wine.  — V.B.  (10/1/2011)

Saracina 2011 Sauvignon Blanc (Mendocino County)

  1. $23
A full and creamy style of Sauvignon Blanc, this has a lot of dense almond and vanilla notes set against high tones of bright peach and flint. With its great, fresh acidity, it will hold up against an appetizer like goat cheese on crackers.  — V.B.  (10/1/2012)

Saracina 2001 Sauvignon Blanc (Mendocino County)

  1. $24
Refreshing and zesty, with peach, grass, juniper berry and grapefruit flavors that drink a little sweet, although crisp acidity cleanses and soothes the palate. This nice cocktail wine is fun and easy to drink.  — S.H.  (7/1/2003)
