Sella & Mosca 2001 Marchese di Villa Marina Cabernet Sauvignon (Alghero)
Online Exclusive
Price
$58
Beautiful intensity surrounds this linear, compact and elegant Cabernet Sauvignon. Aromas include berry fruit, balsamic notes, iron-earthy tones and chopped herbs. Nice harmony, good flavors and long persistency; this is a highly recommended wine that boasts the best of its Mediterranean roots.

Sella & Mosca 2004 Tanca Farrà Red (Alghero)
Price
$29
Tanca is the Sardinian word for “closed,” and farrà means “iron.” This important wine (a 50-50 blend of Cannonau and Cabernet Sauvignon) is the product of clay and iron-rich soils. The wine is dark and dense with lingering flavors of black cherry and exotic spice.

Sella & Mosca 2005 Marchese di Villamarina Cabernet Sauvignon (Alghero)
Price
$68
This rich, oak-aged Cabernet Sauvignon shows that Sardinia can produce both indigenous and international grape varieties that compete with the best wines of the world. This opulent expression delivers dense berry flavors and dried fruit backed by mineral, spice and polished tannins.

Sella & Mosca 2003 Tanca Farrà Red (Alghero)
Online Exclusive
Price
$22
Because this wine is made from a 50-50 blend of Cab Sauvignon and Cannonau, you could call it a “Super-Sardinian.” Everything about the nose and mouthfeel are pretty much super anyways; from its abundant aromas of red fruit, dried herbs, licorice, mint and toast to its firm tannins and excellent length. The wine ages three years in oak.

Sella & Mosca 2003 Marchese di Villamarina Cabernet Sauvignon (Alghero)
Price
$75
This is a pure expression of Cabernet Sauvignon that has been sweetened and softened by the warm Sardinian sunshine. The wine is elegant and fine with aromas of spice, blackberry and tobacco. The mouthfeel is firm but also smooth.

Sella & Mosca 2000 Terre Rare Riserva Carignano (Carignano del Sulcis)
Online Exclusive
Price
$22
Vibrant red cherry tones are expertly woven within toasted nut and vanilla to produce a wine with character that ultimately seems younger than it is. You’ll taste red currant berry, pomegranate and toasted wood flavors and enjoy its refreshing crispness.

Sella & Mosca 1999 La Cala White (Sardinia)
Best Buy
Price
$11
Loaded with fresh pineapple and grapefruit from beginning to end, this zestful Sardinian white delights throughout. A real waker-upper; it’s an admirable foil for any grilled fish but would be especially so for grilled lobster.

Sella & Mosca 1999 Le Arenarie Sauvignon Blanc (Sardinia)
Best Buy
Price
$12
A Sauvignon Blanc from Sardinia, and it’s a good one. One worries after the slightly reticent nose, but after that it’s all uphill. Well balanced, with crisp acidity and an expansive mouthfeel. Its predominantly melon finish goes on and on.
