Shenandoah 2004 ReZerve White Port (Amador County)

  1. $17
Made from Viognier and Roussanne, this intensely sweet wine has rich flavors of the ripest apricots and white peaches, drizzled with vanilla and cinnamon spice. The texture can only be described as voluptuous. Acidity is good, providing a cleansing balance. The alcohol is a very high 18 percent. This is sheer decadence.  — S.H.  (5/1/2006)

Shenandoah 2002 ReZerve Paul's Vineyard Zinfandel (Shenandoah Valley (CA))

Just what you want a great mountain Zin to be. Marvelously rich and ripe in berry, cherry, chocolate, coffee and spicy flavors, a wine that just blows you away with fruit, but balanced and even elegant. Fully dry despite the size. Perfect with grilled meat or poultry.  — S.H.  (8/1/2005)

Shenandoah 2002 ReZerve Barbera (Shenandoah Valley (CA))

  1. $24
Mountain red wine, big, bold, brawny, hot and packed with ripe red and black stone fruit flavors. Completely dry, with outsized but velvety tannins, this wine defines a long-lived style of Barbera, and is really quite wonderful.  — S.H.  (9/1/2004)

Shenandoah 2002 Rezerve White Port (Shenandoah Valley (CA))

  1. $11
Made from the Viognier grape, this is a very sweet wine that oozes flavors of orange custard, honeysuckle, vanilla, caramel and white fudge. It’s tremendously spicy, with a firm acidity that creates a clean zestiness despite the sugar.  — S.H.  (9/1/2004)

Shenandoah 2003 ReZerve Barbera (Shenandoah Valley (CA))

  • Editors' Choice
  1. $24
Classic California Barbera here. It’s probably softer and gentler in tannins than Grandpa ever had, but still offers the same midnight black color, deep flavors of plums, blackberries, coffee and leather, and overall balance and integrity. Try as a very interesting alternative to a fine Cabernet.  — S.H.  (12/15/2005)

Shenandoah 2006 Rezerve Paul's Vineyard Zinfandel (Amador County)

  1. $24
A beautifully exuberant mountain Zin. There’s nothing shy or reserved about its power blast of wild briary berries, currants, chocolate and peppery spice flavors. Deliciously complex and distinctly Zinny.  — S.H.  (4/1/2009)

Shenandoah 2001 Paul's Vineyard ReZerve Zinfandel (Shenandoah Valley (CA))

A densely structured wine that sports deep, rich plum, blackberry, cassis, smoke, toast, licorice, coffee and chocolate flavors. The texture is firm and rich, with a smoky edged note on the finish.  — W.E.  (11/1/2003)
