Here’s a real find: a serious-fun wine with lots going for it. Opens with black-cherry, smoke and vanilla aromas; rich and fine. The flavors are cherry-smoky and bone dry, with a fine texture. There’s something distinguished and high quality about the structure and finish.

Starts off with rich earth, coffee and spice aromas that lead into a bright-edged, fruit-driven wine redolent of black cherry, blackberry, black pepper, herbs, coffee and chocolate notes. Zippy acidity keeps it bright on the finish. Complex, yet still fun.

Plummy, jammy and spicy up front. It bursts forth with a bright-edged cherry component that’s followed by toasty oak, pepper and herb notes. The finish is moderate, with a slight tannic bite. Quite juicy.

Ripe in tropical fruit, peach, pear and spicy flavors, well-oaked, and with a creamy texture and crisp acidity, this pretty Chard offers plenty of pleasure.

If you like your red wines soft, juicy and slightly sweet, this Syrah is for you. It’s packed with blackberry, currant, mocha, plum, raisin and black pepper flavors, wrapped into gentle tannins. Drink now.

Quite herbal and menthol-like. The wine also has plummy, charry, black cherry notes but they take a back seat to the unusually herbal character. Charry tannins act as a framework. Different.

As ripe and sweet as a Zin can be before turning to Port. Cherries, black raspberries, mocha, vanilla and peppery spices are encased in soft tannins, but the acidity provides life.
