Starvedog Lane 2003 Sauvignon Blanc (Adelaide Hills)
Price
$15
Tropical yellow fruit and fresh garden greens on the nose let you know exactly what you’re in for: A crisp, zesty, summery wine. Tangy grapefruit, peach and grassy flavors follow through on the clean finish.

Starvedog Lane 2003 Shiraz-Viognier Red (Adelaide Hills)
Price
$15
Has all the working parts that a good Oz red needs: fleshy plum fruit, judicious oak, and a please-all medium size. Smells earthy, and finishes with a taut smack of plum skin. Contains 6% Viognier, but its telltale floral qualities aren’t so obvious here. Imported by Pacific Wine Partners.

Starvedog Lane 2001 Chardonnay (Adelaide Hills)
Price
$17
Bright springtime-and-honey aromas are welcoming on the nose. The palate is one on which yellow fruit—everything from pears, apples, even lemon—takes the reins, with lactic-butter flavor underneath. Slick and round in the mouth, it closes with a prickly lemon-herb feel.

Starvedog Lane 2004 Sauvignon Blanc (Adelaide Hills)
Price
$15
A good SB, but not a lot of verve. Offers lime flavors, and a minerally feel. Lemon flavors bring the wine to a tart close. Imported by Pacific Wine Partners.

Starvedog Lane 2004 No Oak Chardonnay (Adelaide Hills)
Price
$15
This is a straightforward Chard, one for those who prefer not to drink their butter and toast. This wine offers dusty lemon aromas and white stone fruit on the palate. 2,000 cases produced. Imported by Pacific Wine Partners.

Starvedog Lane 1999 Shiraz (Adelaide Hills)
Price
$23
Gaminess, thin cherry and light toast aromas meet tart red fruit and woody flavors. The acidity is good and firm, while the finish is tinged with cranberry and red plum. —K.F.

Starvedog Lane 2000 Chardonnay (Adelaide Hills)
Price
$19
It tastes like it smells—like lots of toast and butterscotch. Palate also offers some yellow fruit and an a fresh herbal streak (or maybe it’s pine needles?). The same herbal note shows again on the finish.

Starvedog Lane 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon (Adelaide Hills)
Price
$23
If eucalyptus is your thing, look no further, because there’s plenty of it here, accenting cherry and plum fruit on the palate. Has interesting Indian spice aromas on the nose; finishes with tealike tannins. Could use more stuffing, too. - D.M.
