Storrs 2001 Pinot Noir (Santa Cruz Mountains)

  1. $25
Released at 4-plus years of age, this is still a young, fresh wine. It has complex cherry compote, cola and crushed hard spice flavors, with a delicate overlay of oak, and is very dry and well acidified. It makes you wish there were far more Pinot planted in this rapidly urbanizing area.  — S.H.  (3/1/2006)

Storrs 2004 Christie Vineyard Chardonnay (Santa Cruz Mountains)

  1. $26
Bright in acids and pure kiwi, lime and peach flavors. Oak plays the perfect foil, lending buttered toast and vanilla to this lovely, complex wine.  — S.H.  (3/1/2006)

Storrs 2009 Viento Vineyard Gewürztraminer (Monterey)

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $16
Gewürztraminer has lost some popularity lately, but this is really a lovely wine. It’s spiciness and slight sweetness, not to mention the acidity, suggest pairing with today’s Asian-inspired fare, especially based around chicken, lamb and pork.  — S.H.  (4/1/2012)

Storrs 2010 Chardonnay (Santa Cruz Mountains)

  1. $25
A fine spine of minerals and acidity provides welcome relief to the sweet pineapple, vanilla, buttered toast and tropical fruit flavors of this Chardonnay. It’s soundly made in the popular style.  — S.H.  (4/1/2012)

Storrs 2002 Riverview Vineyard White Riesling (Monterey)

  1. $14
Here’s an Alsatian-style wine, with fairly dry but vigorously rich flavors of honeysuckle, peach, slate and vanilla. If it had crisper acidity, it would be a great wine.  — S.H.  (5/1/2005)

  1. $36
Robust and fruity, this Pinot has drink-me-now flavors of cherries, raspberries, red licorice and cinnamon spice, with a touch of raisins. Earns extra points for its crisp acidity and silky texture.  — S.H.  (4/1/2012)

Storrs 2003 Christie Vineyard Chardonnay (Santa Cruz Mountains)

  1. $26
It’s all here in spades, the toasty oak, ripe tropical pineapple and mango, peppery spices and creamy texture. Good acidity, too. A little obvious, but will satisfy fans of opulent Chards.  — S.H.  (8/1/2005)

Storrs 2007 Christie Vineyard Pinot Noir (Santa Cruz Mountains)

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $42
The fruit is extracted and sweet in this scoury wine. It floods the mouth with raspberry and cherry jam, with plenty of toasty oak. The texture is irregular, though, with some harsh tannins.  — S.H.  (4/1/2012)
