Peppery and mushroomy on the nose, this wine also features earthy, leathery notes that call to mind the Rhône. It’s a pleasant drink in a rustic red sort of way, distinctive for NZ Pinot. Imported by Cordon Selections.

Plummy, smoky, chocolatey aromas lead to a richly flavored but slightly heavy wine. The soft, gentle tannins are easy to negotiate. There’s a big wad of rich, jammy fruit that hits midpalate, while the finish is juicy and fruity.
