Why can’t more New World Chardonnay taste like this? Barrel fermentation has imparted a toasty, nutty richness without dominating the ripe peaches and tropical fruit. This is rich, ripe, round and lush—almost fruitcake-like—without ever seeming heavy. Black cherry fruit is dusted with dried herbs and spices, then fades gently on the finish.
