Tegernseerhof 2008 Steinertal Riesling (Wachau)

  1. $35
An impressive wine that manages to bring out both richness and a wonderful shower of fresh flavors. So the ripe pineapple and pear fruits combine with an edge of spice. Then they are lifted to a great height by the acidity, the fruit skin texture and a final burst of floral intensity. Screwcap.  — R.V.  (7/1/2009)

Tegernseerhof 2006 Creation Demi-Sec Riesling (Wachau)

  1. $35
This wine is only made in exceptional years from the green grapes in botrytised bunches. There is certainly some sweetness, but the wine is dominated by acidity and apples and cream flavors. The aftertaste, however, is soft.  — R.V.  (5/1/2008)

Tegernseerhof 2006 Steinertal Riesling (Wachau)

  • Cellar Selection
  1. $30
The intensity of this wine is almost overwhelming, with its crisp minerality, apple skin and green plum flavors and white stone fruits. The concentration is impressive for a wine that looks likely to need at least five years before drinking.  — R.V.  (5/1/2008)

Tegernseerhof 2006 Höhereck Grüner Veltliner (Wachau)

  • Cellar Selection
  1. $35
Closed, mineral and salty, this is potentially a rich and powerful wine, full-bodied but still retaining great varietal character. The aftertaste has great acidity, which cuts through the wine, leaving considerable aging ability.  — R.V.  (5/1/2008)

Tegernseerhof 2008 Weissenkirchner Zwerithaler White (Wachau)

  • Editors' Choice
  1. $35
The first release of this field blend from the Zwerithaler vineyard. It gives spice, smooth acidity, fashioned by an explosion of pineapple, tarragon and orange zest, all giving delicious freshness. Age for five years or more. Screwcap.  — R.V.  (10/1/2010)

Tegernseerhof 2008 Höhereck Grüner Veltliner (Wachau)

  1. $40
Martin Mittelbach rolls out this intense, concentrated wine, which packs spice, ripe pineapple and apricots and a final floral character that fills the mouth. A wine to age for at least four years. Screwcap.  — R.V.  (7/1/2009)

Tegernseerhof 2008 Kellerberg Riesling (Wachau)

  • Cellar Selection
  1. $40
This is tight, tense, only just showing potential. It has great fruit, very fresh but also ripe, concentrated, just ready to reveal every facet of its jewel-like nature. The acidity is probably still too prominent, but over the next 2–3 years, this wine will start to age beautifully. Screwcap.  — R.V.  (7/1/2009)

Tegernseerhof 2008 Loibenberg Grüner Veltliner (Wachau)

  1. $35
Finely balanced, a wine that exudes class and freshness. The green and yellow fruits fill the mouth, round but always with a layer of crispness. Everything comes together, the fruit, the acidity and the rich undertow of spice. Screwcap.  — R.V.  (7/1/2009)
