Tenimenti Angelini 2007 Val di Suga Sangiovese Grosso (Brunello di Montalcino)

  1. $61
This attractive Brunello presents a wild, brambly side, with aromas of wild mushroom, forest floor, small berry and crème de cassis. It boasts a beautiful, deep color and plenty of concentration, with endnotes of spice, leather and dried tobacco leaf. The mouthfeel is solid, well defined and superbly structured.  — M.L.  (5/1/2012)

This full-bodied wine opens with compelling aromas of black fruit, smoked bacon, leather, cinnamon and crushed clove. There’s a sassy, spicy characteristic here that is further underlined by the wine’s natural sweetness and roundness.  — M.L.  (5/1/2012)

Tenimenti Angelini 2000 Vigna Spuntali Sangiovese (Brunello di Montalcino)

  1. $86
More ethereal than brawny, licorice, balsam notes, forest berry, smoked cedar wood, anise seed and menthol notes are woven carefully together. Plum and cinnamon spice come though in the mouth followed by bitter coffee and firms tannins. Imported by Wilson Daniels Ltd.  — W.E.  (4/1/2006)

Tenimenti Angelini 1997 Val di Suga Sangiovese (Brunello di Montalcino)

  1. $80
Modern, polished fruit and new wood flavors blend well in this wine. The fruit is clean, ripe, bright with sweetness and flavors of black cherries. The wine is generous, full and opulent, with softer tannins than many Brunellos. Despite this nod in the direction of an international style, the wine still has the classic Brunello power and potential for aging.  — R.V.  (8/1/2002)

Tenimenti Angelini 1999 Vigna del Lago Riserva Sangiovese (Brunello di Montalcino)

  • Cellar Selection
  1. $134
Kicks off with a lot of maple, coffee and espresso, and in the mouth the tannins are spiky and aggressive. Nonetheless, there’s dynamite classic fruit here and structure to burn. A classic Brunello with a rugged edge. Needs five to ten years on its side. Imported by Wilson Daniels Ltd.  — M.S.  (7/1/2005)

Tenimenti Angelini 2005 Val di Suga Sangiovese Grosso (Brunello di Montalcino)

  1. $50
Toasty notes of spice, plum, cherry cola, mesquite and moist earth make this textbook Brunello. It has all the aromatic qualities you seek in a wine of this workmanship and sophistication. There’s better density and thickness here too which helps propel the wine’s persistency on the palate.  — M.L.  (10/1/2010)
