Terre Degli Svevi 2004 Re Manfredi Aglianico (Aglianico del Vulture)

  1. $33
In keeping with Vulture tradition, this compact wine puts less emphasis on oak shadings and concentrates on the purity of the fruit instead. There are leafy, bramble-like notes of forest floor, garden greens and exotic spice. The wine has bright berry accents and ends on a spicy, almost piquant note.  — M.L.  (11/1/2008)

Terre Degli Svevi 1999 Re Manfredi Aglianico (Aglianico del Vulture)

  1. $30
Vital and tannic after a number of years, a testament to this grape’s aging ability. The bouquet deals strawberry, raspberry, mint and sage. In the mouth, hard tannins frame plum and cherry fruit, which is backed by a racy, no-holds-barred finish. Nothing out of place; well structured.  — M.S.  (11/15/2004)

Terre Degli Svevi 2003 Re Manfredi Serpara Aglianico (Aglianico del Vulture)

  1. $42
A playful hint of porcino mushroom and earth peeks though aromas of spice, bramble and green spinach leaf. This is a distinctive wine (in gorgeous packaging) that represents a traditional style of Aglianico del Vulture. It tastes raw, gritty and firm in the mouth.  — M.L.  (11/1/2008)
