Twin Oaks 2007 Sleepy Hollow Vineyard Pinot Noir (Santa Lucia Highlands)

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $42
Crisp acidity gives this Pinot a tart bite, but it’s rich enough to take that sharpness. Shows very ripe, focused flavors of cherries, raspberries, currants, gingersnap cookies and cedar. Drink now–2012.  — S.H.  (6/1/2010)

Twin Oaks 2007 La Encantada Vineyard Pinot Noir (Sta. Rita Hills)

Made in an immediately accessible style, this is a softly gentle, silky Pinot Noir with lots of delicious flavor. Brims with cherry pie filling, cola, anise, cinnamon and smoky, spicy sandalwood. Charming now, and complex enough for fine grills and roasts.  — S.H.  (6/1/2010)

Twin Oaks 2006 Sleepy Hollow Vineyard Pinot Noir (Santa Lucia Highlands)

  1. $49
Far better known for Chardonnay, the Sleepy Hollow vineyard also grows a small amount of Pinot Noir, which it sells to outside wineries. Twin Oaks has done a creditable job in crafting this drily interesting Pinot. Pale in color, it has a light, silky texture, but the flavors are full, suggesting raspberries, cherries, root beer and Asian spices.  — S.H.  (10/1/2008)
