It’s a shame that so little of this wine is made, as it is a textbook example of a powerful, beautifully balanced Syrah from this tiny AVA in the heart of the Yakima Valley. Black fruits abound, wrapped in a firm, muscular, polished package by fine-grained tannins and a dark chocolate finish.

From 35-year-old vines, this dark, smoky, exotically aromatic Cabernet spent 22 months in American oak, and not too surprisingly that oak influence is still being absorbed, with some rough edges. The fruit is full, lightly (and most agreeably) herbal, supple with blueberry and boysenberry dominating. Give it extra breathing time or better still another year or two…

Sassy, spicy, and sporting both floral and sweet citrus characteristics, this off-dry Gewurztraminer fills the mouth with candied lemon, sweet papaya and a squirt of fresh lime. Very tasty, with a lingering, refreshing finish.
