Venge 2005 Family Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon (Oakville)

Has the feel of an important, but young, Cabernet, with its impressive structure and near-perfectly ripened fruit. The flavors of black currants, plums, minerals and cedar are wrapped in gorgeously ripe, refined tannins, and balanced with fine acidity. Soft and juicy, and very smooth in texture, with delicious blackberry, black currant, cherry and mocha flavors. Made even more complex by smoky oak and a note of roasted meat. Drinkable now, but should hold well for 4–6 years, at least.
