Verum 2007 Patagonia Pinot Noir (Río Negro Valley)

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $25
An elevated, higher-quality style of Patagonian Pinot Noir. Verum has ripe, agile fruit aromas accented by bacon and vanilla from the barrel, while the balanced palate houses plucky cherry and raspberry flavors. Dry and spicy late, with delicacy. Drink now through 2011.  — M.S.  (12/31/2009)

Verum 2010 Pinot Noir (Alto Valle del Río Negro)

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $20
Scratchy, dry raspberry aromas are standard and accurate for Pinot. The mouthfeel is tight and crisp, with gentle acids pushing standard strawberry, raspberry and oaky flavors of cocoa and spice. Mild tasting but long on the finish.  — M.S.  (3/1/2012)

Verum 2011 Chardonnay (Alto Valle del Río Negro)

  1. $17
Displays good cut and light lemon and apple aromas. Feels fresh, with zesty acidity setting up pithy apple and sweet melon flavors. Finishes warm, tropical and a little stalky tasting.  — M.S.  (3/1/2012)

Verum 2010 Chardonnay (Patagonia)

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $17
Generic melon and peach aromas precede a slightly forced and sweet palate with melony flavors and some tail-end bitterness. The finish is creamy and shows vanilla as well as peach and toast notes. Very basic Chardonnay given the price.  — M.S.  (5/1/2011)

Verum 2007 Patagonia Merlot (Río Negro Valley)

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $20
Aromas of brick dust, sweet spice, rubber and leather are good if you’re not seeking saturated berry fruit, while the palate is starchy and grabby, with flavors of stewed berry, tomato, leather and earth. Raspberry is detectable on the thin finish, but so is a soupy flavor. Decent wine with some faults.  — M.S.  (7/1/2010)

Verum 2007 Patagonia Chardonnay (Río Negro Valley)

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $20
Smells a bit too much like canned fruit and applesauce, while the palate is heavy, chunky and tastes of creamy, baked white fruits. Thick and decadent, with ample oak, vanilla and spice.  — M.S.  (12/31/2009)

Verum 2009 Merlot (Río Negro Valley)

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $17
Somewhat jammy and soupy on the nose, with a flavor profile that follows suit; it tastes slightly stewed and spicy, with both sweet fruit flavors and some bitterness. Finishes much like a soup or stew, with herbal, earthy notes. Adequate but not super fresh or fruity.  — M.S.  (5/1/2011)
