Like pulling up to a fruit stand in the Central Valley on a hot day, this dessert-style Black Muscat tastes of baked plums and syrupy chocolate. It’s balanced, and its sweetness lingers.

A blend of Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel, Vezer’s Jake’s has a good, dark earthy personality, with a depth of spice around its big shoulders and dusty Petite Sirah finish.

Lots of good Zinfandel flavors of wild berries, currants and spices, and the tannins are just fine. On the downside is a certain vegetal streak that shows strongly in the finish.
