VinEcol 2010 made with organic grapes Malbec (Mendoza)
Online Exclusive
Price
$13
Opens with jammy aromas but it’s also stewed and stalky. The palate is resiny and tannic, which means it’s grabby. Tastes a bit leafy and burnt, with spiced, roasted red plum flavors. Offers mostly oak spice and heat on the finish.

VinEcol 2007 Organic Chardonnay (Mendoza)
Online Exclusive
Price
$12
Butterscotch, roast corn and a general aromatic flatness don’t really bring you in, but the flavors of pear and peach are adequate, and the palate has some acidic kick to it. Mouthfeel and flavorwise, the wine is fine, but it has no complexity, character or pedigree to it.

VinEcol 2006 Organic Malbec (Mendoza)
Price
$12
Sweet and reduced aromas of red licorice and prune lead to sketchy red cherry flavors and not much body. The wine is closed, hard and chewy, but with a lot of fruit-forward potency.

VinEcol 2009 Malbec (Mendoza)
Online Exclusive
Price
$15
This wine defines overripe but palatable Malbec. The nose is raisiny and heavy, but not very powerful. In the mouth, it runs soft and flat, with sweet, thick flavors of cola, raisin and baked out berry. Chunky and chewy on the finish.

VinEcol 2009 Torrontés (Mendoza)
Online Exclusive
Price
$15
Nutty on the nose and lacking that patented tropical pop. The palate is maderized and not 100% fresh, with a waxy set of flavors and a Sherry-style finish. Over the hill.

VinEcol 2006 Organic Cabernet Sauvignon (Mendoza)
Online Exclusive
Price
$12
An organic wine that is rough and oily on the nose and tannic and choppy in the mouth. It’s a hard, wine with sweaty, sharp scents and too much black olive and funk. Not a disaster but it requires an awful lot from the buyer.

VinEcol 2010 Made with organic grapes Torrontés (Mendoza)

Price

Waxy and smells like corn on the cob. Spritzy and out of balance, with grapefruity flavors and mealy citrus on the finish. Not fresh for a current-vintage wine.
