Vivir, Vivir 2008 Tempranillo (Ribera del Duero)
Best Buy
Price
$12
The packaging and name are a little contrived, but what’s in the bottle stands up to scrutiny. The aromas are warm and plummy, with a hint of toast and cream. The palate is clean and juicy, with snappy black raspberry fruit and a fruity carry-over onto the finish. Spunky, fresh and pleasant.

Vivir, Vivir 2004 Tempranillo (Ribera del Duero)
Best Buy
Price
$10
Black olive, leather and barrel char aromas soon give way to dark fruits, while the palate is rough and tumble due to full tannins, but also nicely flavored with a blend of red and black fruit. No doubt it requires food, but overall it’s well-made.

Vivir, Vivir 2006 Red (Ribera del Duero)
Best Buy
Price
$10
Ribera del Duero wines in this price range are few and far between, so while Vivir, Vivir starts with some classic RDD funk and leather, it soon rises to the occasion by showing plump black-fruit flavors, a wet and balanced mouthfeel, and classic pepper and bitter chocolate on the finish. A good wine if your expectations are not too high.

Vivir, Vivir 2004 Tempranillo (Ribera del Duero)
Price
$10
Hard-driving aromas of smoke and graphite drown out shy fruit, while in the mouth the flavors are more distant than ideal. The feel is typically deep and and tannic, while a lasting flavor of chocolate is a welcome finishing touch.
