Just three barrels of this outstanding reserve were produced. It’s full bodied, richly fruity and broadly textural, it holds its alcohol well, with strawberry jam highlighting a lush palate of ripe, sweet fruits. The barrel notes of toast, caramel and mocha are the frosting on the cake.

This tastes like a reserve, though the odd name and label don’t suggest it. But it has the depth and power of a reserve, a rich stew of meat, earth, soy and loads of black fruits. The details and depth are exceptional.

Definitely one of the smoothest and most deeply concentrated Petit Verdots to come out of the Pacific Northwest, this Walla Walla winery and vineyard sources these grapes from their McClellan Estate vineyard. Wonderfully complex aromatics show a lovely floral note of fresh violets, married to scents of dusty tannins. Supple purple fruits combine with clove and other spices in a svelte wine with a full spectrum of flavors, from flower to fruit to cocoa powder.

From the beguiling aromatics to the thrilling palate that’s saturated with flavors of citrus flesh and rind, tangerine and green apple, this Viognier offers superb focus. The length and detail are noteworthy, but the taste is simply delicious.

This smooth and sexy PV includes 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. But for Petit Verdot, it is remarkably accessible. The tannins are reined in, the color a deep garnet, the nose loaded with violets, chocolate and cassis.

A jump forward in quality for this pure Tempranillo. It opens with a dark, smoky nose—oaky but compelling. The midpalate remains tight and hard, but shows muscular black fruits, good length, and leads nicely into a balanced finish with ripe tannins.
