Wooldridge Creek 1999 IL Carrino Rosso Red Wine (Applegate Valley)

  1. $15
This is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Sangiovese and 20% Zinfandel. Spicy, light and fruity, it sports plenty of acid beneath tart red fruits. The addition of Sangiovese gives it a little bit of leather and toast for added interest.  — P.G.  (8/1/2002)

Wooldridge Creek 2000 Viognier (Rogue Valley)

  1. $16
This is made in a very rich style, with lots of forward fruit, flavors of pears, citrus and citrus rind. Somehow the floral elegance of the variety is lost in all the ripe fruit.  — P.G.  (8/1/2002)

Wooldridge Creek 1999 Merlot (Applegate Valley)

  1. $16
A tart, tight and tannic Merlot, that shows simple flavors of young red fruits. It is still quite hard and compact, and seems likely to remain so.  — P.G.  (8/1/2002)

Wooldridge Creek 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon (Applegate Valley)

  1. $18
This wine carries fairly broad fruit flavors of mixed red fruits, along with leaf and earth. Tannins are well managed; the finish light and fruity.  — P.G.  (8/1/2002)

Wooldridge Creek 1999 Syrah (Applegate Valley)

  1. $16
Hints of spicy cranberry and white pepper suggest Syrah, but lack all of the grape’s power. There is a fair amount of unripe leafiness as well.  — P.G.  (8/1/2002)

Wooldridge Creek 1999 Viognier (Rogue Valley)

  1. $20
A distinctly musky scent carries aromas of mushrooms mixed with toast and grapefruit, if you can follow that trail. Tart and fruity, it shows green fruit flavors with more of that musty, sweaty saddle undertone, carrying into a high-acid finish. —P.G.  — P.G.  (4/1/2002)
